II. Character Information
III. Roleplaying and Writing Assume, for the sake of the application, that you have just met Tharion Greyseer and that he is the one asking these questions. Note that the following situation is not canon and should not be incorporated into your character's roleplay. This is merely here to get a feel for your writing and RP style.
A tall night elf looks to you with blindfolded eyes. You can see an amber flame burning behind the tattered bandage, a telling sign that this kaldorei is a demon hunter. His flowing white hair is pulled back from his face in a long pony-tail. His voice, deep and even, speaks simple words. 1. "Why did you seek me out? For what purpose do you wish to ally yourself with the Netherbane?" Tharion Greyseer nods at your response and turns towards the bookshelf in front of him. Row upon row of ancient tomes line the shelves, some covered in more dust than others. The demon hunter speaks again. 2. "What do you hope to achieve? What is ..." Tharion pauses as he glances at a particular book before removing it from the shelf, "... your goal?" Tharion thumbs through the pages as he listens to you. After you stop, he turns the open book around and reveals an ancient sketch of a battle between a night elf and a demon. The night elf is weaponless, but appears to be the less wounded of the two. His hands were captured in the act of casting a spell of unknown origin and purpose. The demon, on the other hand, appears to be a shadowy form, similar to that of a nathrezim--a dreadlord. The demon's figure is encased in darkness with the exception of its two burning eyes. It appears to be stepping away in fear from the casting kaldorei in the foreground. 3. "Tell me what you see here," Tharion points to the sketch. "Explain to me your interpretation of these events. There is no answer that is correct or incorrect, merely a frame of mind." The Greyseer nods as you finish your description. He closes the book in a puff of dust and slides it back on the shelf from whence it came. He turns once more to you and speaks one final time. 4. "The path of the demon hunter is a dangerous one. The path of an ally is no less so. Do you understand and accept the dangers you will face? How do you expect to survive the things that will find you in the darkness?" -----END CUT HERE----- |
